Voice & Image: An 8-Week Exploration of Interdisciplinary Creative Practice

In today’s social landscape, creative practice is inherently interdisciplinary, bringing together visual arts, music, text, and performance.

This Course is directed towards creatives who are interested in developing their own art work through multiple media or sharing it on interdisciplinary platforms.

It covers the fundamentals in the areas of: Visual & Photographic Arts, Music literacy, Singing, Voice and Presence,Video-Art & Film, Text & Art, Book-Arts, Photo-books, and Performance.

Participants will develop visual and music literacy and gain the understanding to produce art or content from a conscious and critically relevant point of view.

Joanne and Kostas have strong academic backgrounds with a lifetime of diverse experience in both teaching and creative practices that support all the subjects in the course.

Our Process

Photographic Arts:
Developing visual language, perception, and authorship through photographic practice.
Voice and Performance:
Working with voice, sound, and presence as forms of expression and embodiment.
Art Perspectives:
Relevant Perspectives
Video Art, Film:
Moving from still image into time, rhythm, and motion-based work.
The Constructed Image:
Expanding image-making through staging, intervention, and conceptual approaches.
Book Arts, Photobooks:
Shaping narrative through sequencing, editing, and the form of the book.
Music Literacy:
Relevant Perspectives
Text, Writing :
Exploring language as structure, meaning, and extension of the image.

Across the course, we move through a series of interconnected areas of practice—each opening a different way of seeing, thinking, and creating.
